MEFI Volcano Monitor v1.0

MEFI Volcano Monitor

Dedicated Earth event page

Global Volcanic Activity, Risk, and Threat Context

View the worldwide Smithsonian/USGS volcano inventory, current global weekly activity reports, official alert and aviation classifications where authorities publish them, recent nearby earthquakes—including INGV Campi Flegrei records—active prediction windows, and recorded Earth UFR/propagation context.

Official alert levels, threat classifications, and weekly activity reports retain their named sources. “Monitoring priority” only sorts recorded official/activity/seismic conditions; it is not an eruption probability. Geographic proximity and timing alignment do not establish causation.

Methodology and limitations

Data Integrity Rules

Official alert level, aviation color code, status text, and notice timestamps are preserved as supplied by USGS. Earthquake associations use the selected great-circle radius and the retained seismic window; they are spatial observations only. Prediction overlap means a volcano lies inside a supplied geographic/time window. Missing Earth UFR, propagation, prediction, seismic, or atmospheric values remain unavailable and are never replaced with a proxy score.
Version 1.0 • Feeds: worldwide USGS/Smithsonian GVP volcano catalog, USGS Volcano Hazards Program status GeoJSON, Smithsonian/USGS Weekly Volcanic Activity Report, USGS HANS notices, INGV-OV GOSSIP Campi Flegrei events, INGV/EMSC regional fallbacks, merged MEFI Seismic state, and USGS fallback earthquakes. Storage: MEFI_VOLCANO_STATE, MEFI_VOLCANO_EXPORT, MEFI_EVENT_ARCHIVE, MEFI_SOURCE_HEALTH, MEFI_VOLCANO_MONITOR_DB. Shared channel: mefi-propagation.
