Pressure Systems as Variable Nested Propagation Envelopes
Track how high- and low-pressure systems build, weaken, cross, amplify, cancel, and redirect weather energy. The monitor treats every pressure system as a changing nested envelope—not a fixed set of three layers—and resolves its leading expansion, following compression, transition, payload, and trailing response from the measurements available at that moment.
This page performs its own weather acquisition and NOAA-backed MEFI calculation. Other MEFI pages are optional comparisons only: closing them never pauses this monitor, erases its readings, or disables its pressure-system analysis.
How to read the pressure model: forecasts and official warnings remain the operational weather authority. MEFI compares measured pressure gradient, one-hour tendency, curvature/sharpness, wind and moisture response, temperature change, and the ambient solar-magnetic field. Kr is the normalized compression contribution and Kc is the normalized expansion contribution. They are interpretation indices, not replacement units for hPa or an assertion that timing alignment proves causation.

For U.S. coordinates, the monitor automatically requests the nearest NOAA/NWS reporting station and merges that direct observation. Elsewhere, it loads current global weather-model conditions and labels them as model context. It never relabels model output as a local sensor observation.

A pressure system is resolved from as many active interfaces as the current readings support. The display can expand or contract its layer count; it does not force the atmosphere, Earth, or a wave into three nodes. Each interface is sampled twice—as the leading side enters and the trailing side exits—so the system can show amplification, cancellation, redirection, and timing change.

The volume, shells, and paths between them are calculated from the full live MEFI and Delta Q terms; they are not presented as directly measured air parcels. Shell distance is a normalized model coordinate unless an altitude-resolved source is supplied.

NWS station values are direct observations. Open-Meteo values are global weather-model current conditions and hourly context, not station observations. NWS warning fields remain official alert records. The weather disturbance index is derived only from pressure change, wind, gust, and precipitation; it is not an eruption, earthquake, storm, or MEFI probability. Missing lightning or upper-atmosphere observations are not synthesized.
Earth-interacting solar events · strength and saved results
The default view shows observed Earth interactions and forecast Earth impacts. The full solar catalog remains available for research. Each event retains its own strength markers, dated readings and saved results. A new storm does not close an earlier storm or reset Earth’s recovery.
